Our Story

Behind the walls of Jakobs that have been standing for 25 years, there is a beautiful love story between a father and his daughter. Tania who owns Jakobs, decided to open the restaurant with her father as a project that they would achieve together in his last few years as he was suffering from illness.

We are known for our fresh, colourful and flavoursome food which ranges from organic salads, wraps and quiches to lasagnes and various Armenian and Persian dishes. We have also implemented British classics in our menu such as fish cakes, cottage pie and poached salmon- just to name a few. At Jakobs, we aim to serve a vast variation of food to suit all of our customers, whilst balancing flavours and adding our own Jakobs touch with the use of Armenian spices, Persian herbs and an organic, healthy theme running through everything we make.

The Jakobs legacy is one we hope to continue for many years, as we create new dishes everyday and cook our food with love as well as a passion for bringing nutritious, wholesome and healthy home-cooked food to your plates.

Our Ingredients

At Jakobs, we believe that ingredients are the most important part of our business. We buy fruits and vegetables from local markets because ingredients that are fresh provide the authentic taste we are looking for.

We also have an allotment where we grow our own basil, mint, rocket and Persian, Armenian and Italian herbs to enhance the flavour of our food. We aim to grow all our own tomatoes and we'll be expanding our venture in sustainability by growing produce at Jakobs; on our balcony, in our conservatory and on our flat roof. It is our ambition to freshly source our ingredients every day.

We already use as much organic produce as we can and we are always adding to our repertoire, which includes organic essentials such as olive oil, organic cheese and freshly soaked walnuts. All our fish is certified organic, as are many of our wines and beers from around the world.

Our Deli Specials

Though Jakobs prides itself in catering for your events with tailored menus, we also have our quotidian deli which we fill every day with fresh, colorful, and healthy food, ranging from salads, dips, quiches, various lasagnas, vegetarian main dishes, roasted poultry, chicken Milanese, stuffed vegetables from our allotment, just to name a few. We also grill fresh fish every day upon request. Our deli works on a menu basis where you order a main meal and can select from our array of sides. Jakobs, however, is most famous for our fresh, homemade wraps made with falafels, grilled chicken, aubergine or even meatballs. We have something for everyone be it a wrap on the go or a slice of goat's cheese and roasted vegetable quiche accompanied by our signature velvet hummus. Moreover, we are also the ideal spot for anyone who wants a quiet place to relax and enjoy a cappuccino with our homemade brownies.
